The View

Mom emailed me this picture this morning to keep me going during these last few (but exceptionally stressful) weeks of my sophomore year in college. Dunno who exactly took the picture; ignore the shadowy thumb in the corner.

Anyway, this is the view from my back porch, the one overlooking the front pasture. There’s a frost on the ground; considering that it’s currently in the mid-90s back home, I’m assuming this picture was taking during the winter months. Still, I nearly cried when I saw it. I miss the ranch so much—SO MUCH. Any little snapshot I can get of it has the power to reduce me to a blubbering, homesick mess.

For those wondering, this is a snapshot of the landscape just outside of Lometa, Texas. Not that I expect anyone to have heard of that wonderful lil’ patch of land, but still: That’s where it is.

Some fun facts: We’re a very patriotic family, hence the flags, and do you see the stacked stones around the tree that serve as a flowerbed, as well as the patio stones near the bottom of the picture? My grandfather laid all those stones himself. Love that man.

Just wanted to share the most magical place in the world with all of you. ^^
