A Review of 'Warm Bodies,' 2013 ZomRomCom Film

CONTAINS SPOILERS which isn't that big of a deal considering the movie is based on a book which was first a web series. Need something to tide you over until the movie comes out? Pick up the book. I hear it's swell.

I had the good fortune of attending a "Warm Bodies" pre-screening event last weekend (late November). Here is my review of the film, coming February 1st, 2013.

Note: I wrote as I speak, so this is fairly sarcastic and/or crass. That's just me. I'm a total zombie enthusiast and I love our ranks. We're just sort of particular sometimes.

Another entry in the annals of the ZomRomCom genre, “Warm Bodies” impresses audiences with its clever deadpan dialogue and engaging premise, but zombie purists might find themselves repelled by the saccharine romance and the somewhat nonsensical spin on the zombie mythos. Zombie enthusiasts beware: "Warm Bodies" is a romantic comedy with zombies, not a zombie movie with romance. That doesn't stop the film from being deadly fun.
